INTERNATIONAL LECTURE: Magmatic-Hydrothermal Au and Cu Deposits – Characteristics, Genesis, and Exploration
International Lecture is one of SEG UGM SC events. The aim of this event is to develop student’s interest in economic geology and to make a good corporation with the professionals. The one-day event discussed Magmatic-Hydrothermal Au and Cu Deposits – Characteristics, Genesis, and Exploration. The participants of International Lecture were Geological Engineering students, Mining Engineering students, and some related professionals. The invited speakers are the expert in porphyry deposit such as Prof. David Cooke (Director of TMVC Research Hub and Vice Director of CODES Tasmania University), Dr.rer.nat Arifudin Idrus (Lecturer of Geological Engineering Universitas Gadjah Mada), and David Iswanto, S.T. (Mineral Exploration Geologist of J Resources Nusantara Company).
This event was started with the performance of Bali dancers and followed by the speech. I Gusti Ngurah Kusuma Wijaya as the President of SEG UGM SC opened the International Lecture officially by his speech and also the speech from Dr. Lucas Donny Setijadji as the SEG UGM SC Faculty Advisor. The first lecture was given by Dr.rer.nat Arifudin Idrus whose topic was the characteristics and genesis of porphyry deposits. Afterward, the second lecture discussed exploration for porphyry deposits which was delivered by David Iswanto, S.T. And the last lecture was given by the keynote speaker, Prof. David Cooke, with 2 topic discussions: characteristics, case studies and genesis of high sulfidation epithermal deposits and exploring lithocaps for high sulfidation deposits.
Asking session was opened in every lecture ended. Momento and certificate giving to all the speakers were given at the end of this event. We are looking forward by this International Lecture could make innovation in Au-Cu deposit exploration and its implementation in Indonesia. Last but not least, we would like to thank J Resources Nusantara, ANTAM, and Summacorp Company as our sponsors who had supported the International Lecture.
Prof. David Cooke was giving the 3rd lecture about characteristics, case studies and genesis of high sulfidation epithermal deposits and exploring lithocaps for high sulfidation deposits.
